ROSAPENNA GOLF RESORT (Old Tom Morris Links): Home to two championship links courses in one stunning coastal location. The Old Tom Morris Links and the new Sandy Hill Links. The Old Tom Morris Links is ranked #34 in GOLF DIGEST IRELAND’s 2012 Top 100 Courses rankings. The original Course at Rosapenna (dating back to 1893) has been touched by some of the greatest golf course designers in history, including Harry Vardon and James Braid. In 2009 the new Strand Nine opened at Rosapenna to replace the original back nine which played across the main road on a number of holes. Laid out by Pat Ruddy of the European Club these new links holes, which have striking views across Mulroy Bay, have matured to a condition that will see them settle into the Old Tom Morris Links to provide a seamless connection between each nine. Running to just under 7,000 yards off the championship markers the Strand and Valley nines are a testing combination of traditional and modern links holes which bridge a century of golf design influences.
