LAHINCH GOLF CLUB: Since it’s foundation in 1892, Lahinch Golf Club’s Old Course is rightly regarded among the world’s finest links golf courses. The Old Course today is a spectacular links and is the product of design originally by Old Tom Morris and more significantly in the 1920’s by Alister MacKenzie. The Old Course was dramatically modernised and further enhanced by Martin Hawtree in 2003. Lahinch is consistently ranked among Europe’s Top-20 and World Top-50 golf courses. GOLF magazine ranked Lahinch #42 in the world in their 2011 rankings. Situated at the opposite side of the road from the Old Course, the Castle Course, although a less formidable challenge, still presents its own brand of toughness and cleverly positioned bunkers and water hazards to trap the unsuspecting golfer.
